Welcome Pastor Jeff Utecht
The District Superintendent of the River Valley District of the United Methodist Church, Minnesota Annual Conference, has announced that it is the intention of Bishop Bruce Ough to appoint the Reverend Jeff Utecht as interim pastor of the St. Croix Valley United Methodist Church in Lakeland, Minnesota. Acting on behalf of the congregation, the Staff Parish Relations Committee has confirmed the Bishop’s intention.
There will be a service of Celebrating the Appointment on July 5, 2015. Visitors are welcome to attend. A reception will be held in honor of Rev. Utecht and his wife, Lori, on July 12th immediately following worship at St. Croix Valley United Methodist Church in Lakeland, Minnesota.
The Rev. Jeff Utecht bears a last name that is familiar to many in the St. Croix Valley area. Pastor Jeff joins a long line of Utecht's who have made their home in the Valley dating back to the late 1800's. Utecht is the son of former native Stillwater resident, Bob Utecht, who once penned a human interest column for local news outlets.
Rev. Utecht is beginning his 35th year of ministry as an ordained elder in the Minnesota United Methodist Church. Utecht has served churches in Rochester, Lindstrom, and Hastings. He is celebrating his 40th year of marriage with his wife Lori this September. They have two children, son Ben (Karyn, wife) who played football for the Super Bowl Champion Indianapolis Colts and also for the U of M Golden Gophers, and daughter Ashley Goodmundson (Doug, husband), along with four grandchildren, and two more on the way this summer!
The Utecht's are excited to make their home in Lakeland, MN, and look forward to sharing God's love and grace with all.
